s someone who has bled blue and white my entire life, I have to say I would probably vomit uncontrollably whilst binge drinking whiskey and crying for months if the Leafs ever announced anything like that as their jersey.

Biggest, simplest mistake? The Leafs are Blue and White, no light blue, no dark blue, no black or silver.... BLUE and WHITE! Not to mention the incredibly non-traditional striping and design.

Now, for maybe the Marlies, or if the Argonauts ever decided to play hockey, this would be an awesome jersey.

Josh, there's not enough room in my orange filled veins to fit blue and white in there, so I don't have the passion you do for the Leafs. I see a nice design - nothing vomit-inducing though. haha.

However, I kinda understand where you're coming from. Whenever I see a Flyers concept, I wanna punch the screen.

Oh ya it's a fine design, just not for the Leafs. I don't think its really possible to pass off any new design for an Original 6, or even most of the 1968 expansion teams.

I agree that there is a high bar for Original 6 and Second 6 designs.

I feel like certain classic teams left themselves open for fan redesigns once they introduced their primary Rbk jerseys. Toronto's jerseys are boring and the Flyers jerseys are ugly (I would also include Buffalo, Edmonton, Vancouver, and the Islanders in that group). All of them are on the right track with their current thirds, but as a jersey designer (and yes, avid Flyers fan), I think Rbk has ended the untouchable reign of many classic jerseys (leaving in my opinion only the Devils and the remaining original six teams).

So to all you artists, open season on the Maple Leafs and Flyers I say. At least until the winter classic when the Flyers start using their white retros (hopefully).

PS: Johnny, remind me never to send you any of my Flyers designs. Some even include...new logos! ::GASP::

Haha. Dave, I should clarify. I don't have a problem so much with jersey redesigns. It's the Flyers' logo that should be untouchable.

I detest the current Reebok jersey the Flyers wear. I hope they go home/away retro full time in the near future.

I'd love to see your Flyers jersey concepts. (Just put a big "X" through your redesigned logo. ha!)

Is it me or is that logo a little too Toronto FC only in blue instead of red?

I'll agree with Johnny about the (former) home blacks, but I think the road whites are just fine. I dare Johnny to complain about out new orange sweaters. Seriously, just try.

Link, as I said in my last comment, I hope the Flyers go with the the retro jersey as home and away full time very soon.

I know there's some length of time you have to wait to introduce a new jersey. I assume they will use a retro white for the Winter Classic and then go full time with that the year after.

I OWN a new orange sweater, my friend!

I don't mind the Flyers' current black jersey. What irks me the most is the white jersey which has white on the body and then the white in the elbow pit. Never looked right to me. I'm also not a fan of how the orange goes straight from the armpit to the neck.

But back to the Maple Leafs design, I think it has some promise. I'm not a huge fan of the royal blue. I think this set might work if instead he used only the two shades of navy as seen on the leaf of the white jersey (middle logo of the top three). I also think the T is a nice allusion to the old Toronto arenas uniforms, but I would get rid of the "Leafs" and "Toronto" texts on the logos. Not a huge fan of the silver, I would just use the two shades of white present on the leaf of the third jersey.

As for the third, go classic. Either come up with a more leafy leaf, like what is on their current thirds, or maybe even just go for just the T to make it really look like an Arenas jersey.

I think the leafs should use the jersey of the third they have now (with the blue equivalent for home) with the current logo. Would be a perfect amalgamation of past and present (and future!)

Well, that's certainly the first time a word like "amalgamation" has been used 'round these parts!

The only one of these that is any good is the dark blue and even then only if you removed the "T" and "Leafs" from the logo and just left the simple blue leaf. As for the white and third jersey...those are just awful.

i like the T

I didnt bother to read all the other comments but this is an awesome jersey set, but not for an "unchanged" original 6 team. If they were an expansion like 10 years ago this would be a great change

You must be from Montreal!

I like the third design but i'm a flyer's fan too so i can't like the leafs.
