Anyway, Mike Ivall has sent in another design, this time he went with a name change for the organization: The Toronto Ramparts.
Nice color scheme, with a 90's sorta feel to the uniform design. Probably because of the angled hem and elbow stripes.
UPDATE: This is an updated graphic sent in by Mike, who got rid of the swooshies around the castle logo. Also ditched was "RAMPARTS" from under the logo. Definite upgrade.
.....
In case you missed the discussion on the last blog post, I'll re-hash.
After seeing Roccot's Toronto Toros submission, it was brought up by Koho that a WHA design competition would be a fun project. I'm wondering if we should finish the rest of the Original Six re-brands, or alternate between the WHA contest and Original Six Re-branding Competition.
The thing with the WHA re-design is that there are a lot of teams to go through, so Koho also suggested that we do Canadian teams verses U.S.A. teams, where anyone could pick whatever team they wanted and send in everything at once. (Sorta like the Canada Vs USA design competition).
The details are still being bounced around in my head and I'll definitely be reading the comments for your ideas as well.
Just givin' everyone a head's-up that a WHA contest is on the horizon.

I, uh... I like the stripping pattern. They are different without being odd or obnoxious. I'm also really into that color scheme. The crest doesn't excite me, but its certainly a solid effort.

I was thinking you could alternate between original six and WHA every two weeks, but do two franchises at once for the WHA contest. By franchise I mean 1 team through all the name changes and relocations (for example: Ottawa Nationals / Toronto Toros / Birmingham Bulls was the same franchise that moved different places, so concepts for any of those team names can be used for the "WHA if they were around today competition" concepts). I think this would work out good because there are 8 franchises that had at least one relocation/name change and then 8 teams that had the same name and city it's whole history. So two franchises can have the same deadline for concepts to be sent in, but 1 team is one that changed names in its history and the other team is one that kept the same name through out its history.

I like this version without the "nuclear energy" swooshies. The CN Tower isn't dominating, which I also really like, but it's there signifying the link to Toronto. I've never been overly crazy about blue and red together, but the jersey design itself I like. Good job!
