Just a quick post today.
Here's Koho's Detroit Red Wings Rebrand. Interesting idea, but I'm not totally sold on it yet. I think the bird head needs to be a little more refined - and less sparrow looking. My favorite part of the whole design is the wing treatment on the jersey sleeves.
.....
There are more designs to check out on the AAHL Davidson Cup Logo Contest page. Some real fine work coming in. Nothing like a little cash to get those creative juices flowing, eh?
.....
Hey PuckDrawn designers, get your portfolio pages up to date because there's gonna be a new feature/page here on the site. Details to come.

WHA Time Out!
Ok, so I'm unofficially announcing the WHA Rebranding Competition here so I can get some kind of feedback on how you guys envision the project structure.
I forget who even came up with the idea (KOHO?), but the plan is to open up all the teams for designers to pick who they want to rebrand/redesign.
Should it be a total rebranding? A updated design? Or whatever they (designers) want to do?
I'm thinking designers can pick any WHA team they want, rebrand or update the logo/uni, then submit to me. Not sure how to set up the voting. Probably just divisions, then a head to head in the finals.

As of right now, the competition is open for any designer to select any team they want in the WHA. Of course this will mean overlap, but so what? No sense making someone design something for a team that does not inspire them.

I think that's a good idea for the WHA. There were so many teams that barely (or never) played, and each one of them could inspire someone.
Maybe divide up the entries into a few even divisions, let people vote and the top two (or whatever makes sense) move on to the next round. Keep going until there is one ultimate winner.

I just made the head of the bird that size to match the same as the other letters in the bird design (making it DRW for Detroit Red Wings).
